Formerly known as the MCell Drive, the Platinum HDD combines 1GB of SDRAM cache with up to 200GB of conventional storage to offer the performance benefits of solid state at a reasonable price. There are built-in capacitors and an intelligent UPS to ensure data in memory is written to nonvolatile disk in the case of power failure.
